180

Whoohoo! My first 180! Actually, doesn't look like much but it's a pretty big step for a newbie like me:

22 Years

My buddy Dave and his wife are in town so I took the day off to hang out with them. Geeze, we've been friends since grade school some 22 years now. Twenty-two years! I don't care how old you are; 22 years is a substantial amount of time.

Anyhoo, he's into surfing so naturally we went wakeboarding today. The fargin bastich makes me sick; it was his first time wakeboarding and he was cruising along on his second attempt. And by the end of the day he was already doing heelside and toeside waking with relative ease.

Check out this action pose by Dave:

Impressive, no?

I'll be uploading our runs shortly. In the meantime, here are some vids from the weekend. This was my best run of the day: toeside jump to heelside jump to toeside jump to ollie:

Here's one where a friggin moth comes flying into my face causing me to wipe out:
Afterwards, we headed over to MegaBox to watch "The Dark Knight" on IMAX. Whoa! The movie alone is already pretty awesome, but the scenes that were shot in IMAX just blow you away. Like I said before, I've never seen Hong Kong portrayed as beautifully as it is in this movie, and seeing it in IMAX makes the statement truer than ever. You haven't seen "The Dark Knight" until you've seen it in IMAX.
EDIT:
Some movies from Wednesday:
Oooh...one handed:
This is what happens when you lose focus for just a split second:

I can't believe this guy; his first time and he's already jumping:

My favorite Harbor

Now I don't want to sound biased, but compared to all the cities I've visited, Hong Kong's Victoria Harbor really is a tough sight to beat.

We've been having some pretty good post-typhoon clear skies this past week so I decided to go up to Lugard Road to snap some pics of my favorite harbor. I was hoping for some more cloud cover to make for a more interesting sky, but overall I'm still happy with what I got.

I don' know about you, but I I can't look at IFC now without thinking about The Dark Knight.

Played with the white balance to get a more blueish hue

Wow, compressly packed HK

And now for some fun:

Really nothing out of the ordinary, just another trip up to Lugard's. But it's like going back to your favorite restaurant over and over; even though you keep eating the same dishes, every visit is always a wonderful experience.
