Urrgh, I feel full just thinking about it...

Man Fat Sze
Visited the Ten Thousand Buddhas Monastary today. Perhaps a somewhat strange place to visit on Christmas day, but I wanted to take advantage of the day off.

'Tis the Season
I've been so wrapped up with December being the month I switch jobs that the thought of Christmas totally escaped my mind. It didn't really hit me until I went for a little shopping yesterday that the big day is a little over 2 weeks from now.
Anyways, shops everywhere are clamoring to put out their festive merchandise. Behold, the Cheerful Snowman from Krispy Kreme:

My friend was about to ask me if I felt silly shooting a donut but then we noticed that nearly every table had a patron with a DC or camera phone pointing straight down at their tray...
The usual Silver & Purple theme at Times Square:

Hmm, purple seems a little more Easter to me, but since both holidays celebrate the same person I guess it makes sense.
Anyhoo, I remember taking the following picture last year:
so I decided to take a reverse angle for this year's shot:
BTW, I LOVE my new Canon Ixy 910IS (aka Ixus 860IS/SD870IS...damn you Canon). It doesn't have the full PASM manual controls of my Casio EX-Z850, but the 28mm wide lens and Image Stabilization more than make up for this shortcoming. Great little performer.
Now if Canon comes up with an Ixy that has the PASM controls of the Casio and the high ISO performance of Fujifilm F31fd's SuperCCD...oohhhhh, baby....

Day 1
Day 1 at my new work. A good experience so far, except for the commute. Going to work wasn't too bad (had to wake up 30 minutes earlier) but the ride back home during rush hour was awful. Standing on the KCR (oops...I mean MTR) and the bus all the way from Shatin was not fun.
Better hit the sheets early tonight. Last night, I stupidly had a coffee with my dinner and I was up till 3 in the morning. The lack of sleep did not help when I was working my way through my 3rd functional spec near the end of the day...

KCR
Hmm, seems the nostalgia keeps going on. Yesterday was my last day at Immd, now today marks the last day of the KCR.
Of course, it's really not the end of the trains, just the end of the KCR Corp, which basically means we won't be seeing that familiar double arrow logo anymore. So, for the sake of reminiscences, I took a few snaps today while travelling to TST.
Heard on the news that lot of train fans will be taking the last KCR train tonight at 0:30. The only real difference is that starting tomorrow the trains will no longer feature the logo, which to me makes it kind of funny to ride the "last" train tonight, since there's really no logo or any other indication inside the train. But, to each his own. I guess this last ride has its significance for train fans.
